Member of the Month: Ramarue
In December 2006 I picked up my husband's D70 and a book about photography with a goal in mind. I wanted to take the camera off Auto and learn how to take real pictures. I joined NOBS two weeks later hoping to learn more about how cameras work and how to achieve good natural lighting when photographing my two kids. Photography quickly became an addiction that kept me up late at night, searching NOBS for more tricks and tips, etc. I know it sounds cheesy, but I felt like something inside of my soul was awakened and I felt very inspired to take photography as far as I could.
By February I could not deny it any longer! I got a professional camera, studio lights, I wanted to open a business, and that's just what I did. I called my business Blue Lily Photography and on April 9th and launched a website that was received really well by all my friends and acquaintances here in town. Word spread like wildfire and I had my hands full in no time. It's almost been a year since then and now I've gotten into weddings and product photography, and things I never imagined doing. Photography is my passion indeed, and I live and breathe it every day.
I owe absolutely everything to NOBS. This is truly where my passion began, and I love the forum because every question or curiosity I ever had I posted on here and it was answered within hours by people who love photography as much as I do. I've made the best of friends and I love popping online to get inspired by everyone's work. My posts are always received with support and constructive critiques, and I was never criticized when I broke standard rules of photography and went after the look I really wanted. Thanks NOBS!
