December Member of the Month: Sarah Murphy
Our last, but certainly not least, NoBS member of the month and photo of the month winner was none other than SarahM (aka Sarah Murphy). Here in her own words, Sarah tells us her story.
"I am one of the luckiest people in the world! I have my DREAM job of being a full-time photographer. I've always had the dream of becoming an entrepreneur but never knew what I wanted to do.
I fell in love with photography back in high school, I spent hours in the dark room but never thought I could make a career out of it. My photography teachers even told me I had a natural talent but I never listened.
I went on to college and got my degree in computer networking. I was a network administrator for several years and I was miserable!! Then one day, which happened to be my own wedding, it all started to appear! I realized that I could do what my photographer was doing and better! I wanted to provide couples with an amazing story of their wedding day with fun and funky images, all while having an amazing time.
That's when I ran across Rob's site www.profitablestudio.com and got the wedding DVD from him. It was one of the best investments I have ever made with my photography journey. I love the way they handled the weddings and everything about their attitudes, etc. I absorbed as much as I could from the DVD's and then decided to go back to his site and find more information.
Rob's site led me to the NOBS site, it was just getting started as a forum but everyone welcomed me and helped me out so much. I don't know where I would be today if it wasn't for NoBS. I have learned the majority of my skills and knowledge from NoBS and they also gave me the courage to get out there and do what I LOVE!!
Thanks again to everyone on this forum, especially Rob and James! Everyone is like family and I love you so much!! I now have expanded my business into portraits such as maternity, children, families, high school seniors, etc. I also now have an amazing 2,700 sq ft downtown studio space and love going to work each day!
